Seeing Beyond is Talk Radio with a Mission!2011 Predictions by Jessica Murray
Predictions for 2011The big news of 2011 is that the Uranus-Pluto square is intensifying. This is the much-heralded transit that makes the years surrounding 2012 so profound. One way of understanding it is that is it echoes the sixties: it’s like the other shoe dropping. Earth changes and cultural developments are coming to a head that began 45 years ago, when there was a mass consciousness explosion. Old models of government (Capricorn) are breaking down (Pluto) in the face of emboldened (Aries) popular movements (Uranus) all over the world. The destabilization will occur mostly in governments with relatively rigid hierarchies; where there’s a vertical social structure, with a Bad Dad at the top. Some nation-states will react using extreme, controlling policies, as governments under threat tend to do; such as fascism and amped-up propaganda campaigns (e.g. the USA’s “war on terror”. But there is also the possibility of revolution (not necessarily military): a sweeping out of the old with deep-structure changes. For Americans, 2011 is also pivotal because the country’s Saturn Return will be peaking. USA’s perceived status as an international power will be on trial. The unspoken reality of American social class will be pushed into the open, as the public comes to realize that the gaping chasm between the haves-and-the-have-nots here is comparable that of Third World countries. Internationally, one of the themes astrologers are looking at in terms of Pluto in Capricorn is the crisis of boundaries. For example, national borders on Earth are being literally obliterated by rising water levels as global warming increases -- which it will, in the absence of radical international efforts -- especially in countries just above sea level. Environmental pressures are causing traditional ideas about national integrity to melt down as stricken countries disgorge their occupants into still-functioning countries like those of North America and Western Europe. The political implications of walls, blockades, enclosures, and fences will also be brought to a head (e.g. the blockading of Gaza by Israel; the wall the USA has built on its Mexican border.) The breakdown of national borders will also accelerate because of systems collapse ( e.g. in Africa, where boundaries are becoming permeable because of as civil war and accompanying poverty and corruption). The term “immigrant” will start to morph into the term “refugee,” as humanity starts to realize why masses of humans are being forced to leave where they live. We will be seeing threats to the ideologies of nation-state-hood in other ways, too. For example the traditional principle of might-makes-right will be under scrutiny, old-fashioned military imperialism and colonialism belonged to an era that is now dying. Nationalism and patriotism will be questioned everywhere as Pluto in Capricorn erodes assumptions about governmental models and foreign policies. We can see this happening already. For example, Washington’s wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are not motivated by nationalism; here the “enemy” is a shifting entity that isn’t accurately identified with any one country. This is a very threatening profound change on a mass-psychological level. On the financial level, the plutocracies of the world, including the USA, will see a heightening of tension between powerful conglomerates and public opinion. Entrenched network of interests such as financial cartels and multi-national corporations aren’t going to give up their hegemony without a fight. Contentious debate will accelerate about the ethics and ecological logic of such new developments as bio technology, crop hybrids and experimental life-extension technologies. As consciousness about the environment increases, the electronics industry (Uranus) will have to face the question of the unsustainability of its millions of unrecyclable products -- all these toxic little toys now building up in dumps in “developing countries” (another outworn euphemism that will probably have to be retired.) Questions will also be asked more urgently about the risk to the human body of, for example, cell phone radiation. On the other hand, science and technology will also be called upon to provide engineering makeovers that environmental degradation will require. The whole shape of the Earth’s crust is changing as the polar ice caps melt, and the subsequent damage control will become a whole new industry. Massive infrastructural changes will be required when the last of the oil is gone, and we have to switch to other fuels. Those with their nose to the wind are already aware of the fact that “alternative energy” is become not just a noble idea but the next growth industry. I expect a rise in the number of activists, as Uranus launches in Aries full-time. There will be plenty of humanitarian crises to inspire them. Healers of every stripe will be very busy. Light workers will come into their own.
